Tropical Destination Wedding in Punta Cana // Anna & John
August 29, 2017 , Weddings
Anna & John’s tropical destination wedding has a special place in my heart. You might recognize Anna from photos on this very blog – I shot her sister, Samantha’s wedding last year. One day, Anna reached out to me and asked if I’d be interested in photographing her Caribbean celebration in the Dominican Republic, and I did what anyone would do…I kiiiiiind of freaked out. Not only did I get to document the day they married, I captured the build up of festivities during their time in Punta Cana. I even spent an afternoon on a catamaran with John, Anna, and 30 of their wedding guests, snorkeling and swimming in natural shallow swimming holes in the Atlantic. And of course, making portraits.
This was one of those weddings that made me really conscious of how amazing it is to capture people in love. The joy, the tears, the love, the laughter, and in this case, we can’t forget the epic dance party. The type of magical energy that made me feel so grateful to be alive that I had to keep pausing here and there just to savor the moment. The type of celebration where I cried before, during, after, and right now, writing this post. That’s a good damn wedding in my book.
This one’s for the people who party hard, laugh loudly, and are wildly in love.
Sharing their day after session soon. Stay posted for more!
