Foggy Sunrise Picnic - Los Angeles Engagement Photographer
July 10, 2023 , Couples

One thing I always believe to be true: good people know good people. I met Francesca & Victor through Heather & Matt’s destination wedding in Italy, and re-connected with them after their engagement. Though they’re having a destination wedding of their own in the Dominican Republic next year, they wanted to take some Los Angeles engagement photos to commemorate their time living here. We met up at the gorgeous Griffith Observatory at sunrise to avoid the crowds. The added bonus of the early start time was the fog gently rolling through. Thick clouds added a dreamy atmosphere to the already beautiful location!
First, we started around the arches and walkways of the iconic Observatory, viewing the Hollywood sign in full force, and enjoying the pink and purple clouds rising through the hills. After an outfit change, we walked down into the trails of Griffith Park for a little celebratory picnic. Francesca and Victor are both creatives with such cool personal style – I am absolutely obsessed with their earth-toned outfits and their fun, funky props (those shoes! that rosebud cake!). They also really love analog film, which is always music to my ears! I brought an assortment of 35mm & 120mm film cameras and got to play around. The recent popularity of film has been such a refresher for my brain and I love the added variety it creates in a couple’s gallery.
This session was so much fun, and I can’t wait for their wedding in the Caribbean next spring!
