An Intimate Wedding at Barbuzzo Philadelphia // Eric & Phil
January 9, 2018 , Weddings
Phil and Eric had an intimate wedding at the Barbuzzo restaurant in downtown Philadelphia in the fall, and it was hands down one of my favorite nights of the year. It was a Tuesday wedding with only 20 people in attendance, no wedding party, minimal formalities. Just good food, good company, and two people hella in love. I first met these two at a wine bar, where we shared stories and laughter, and talked about what makes a great wedding. When I left, I knew I was in for something really special.
They got ready together in their well-curated apartment (Phil shares my love of plants and cats – his cat, Squeaks was so adorable!), helping each other with ties and jackets. We stopped by their favorite neighborhood coffee shop and wandered through the streets toward Barbuzzo, stopping along the way at cute walls and vignettes and color stories. My absolute favorite way to take portraits – completely organic.
At Barbuzzo, they exchanged vows and rings (Bario Neal, the best!) in an emotional ceremony with their closest friends and family. From the beginning, Eric and Phil told me how much they just wanted to celebrate over wine and delicious food, and it made me wonder why everyone doesn’t get married like that. With speeches from their best buds, incredible courses (the salted caramel budino is literally to die for), and a laid back timeline, this wedding was perfect in every way. One of my favorite moments was when Eric, after months of not eating sugar, got to cut his wedding cake with Phil, and the look on his face was so happy that everyone was cracking up!
I couldn’t be more proud of these photos, or of these two gentlemen, who trusted me in telling their story.
From the beginning…
