Retro Meets Modern at the twa hotel
Lauren & Steve – New York City
Iconic red velvet and bold futurist architecture set the stage for an epic celebration for Lauren & Steve. The TWA in New York City is the definition of cool – designed originally as an airport terminal by famed architect Eero Saarinen. Now, couples can host their own TWA Hotel weddings and get to celebrate in a historical building, but in a modern way.
For their wedding, we found inspiration in the mix of retro and modern spaces for portraits. This was perfect for Lauren and Steve – two laid back but fun-loving people. Ceremony and cocktail hour took place in the sunken lounge. The display board customized with dates from the couple’s lives and places they’ve lived. Later, a brass band led guests for dinner and dancing in a very sixties red ballroom. Finally, the party ended up in the airplane-turned-cocktail-lounge outside. An amazing way to end an amazing wedding. Here’s Lauren & Steve’s TWA Hotel wedding, on both film & digital. Vendor list below.
