A Palihouse Santa Monica Engagement Session

Carli & Garrett – Los Angeles

For their engagement photos, Carli & Garrett came from Texas to California to get that cool, classic, LA vibe. We shot in my own neighborhood for their Palihouse Santa Monica engagement. The Palihouse Hotel is a boutique hotel with a European exterior courtyard and eclectic indoor lounge. I’d seen photos of the indoor space, but it wowed in person and set a glamorous tone for these two stylish lovebirds. After we popped a bottle of bubbles in the green velvet booths (perfectly matching Garrett’s loafers!), we spent the afternoon leaning into a romantic vibe. Champagne, spontaneous bocce, hot pink heels, and lots of film. This was a great example of a favorite approach to portraits – a mix of candid, real moments, and editorial shots looking at the camera. A photographer’s dream!
