Bok Building Wedding in Philadelphia // Carlee & Sus
January 21, 2020 , Weddings

What do you get when you combine two brides, style for days, a top floor ceremony, and the best dang vendor crew I can dream of? You get Carlee & Sus’s epic Bok Building wedding. If you live in Philly and you haven’t heard of Bok (or the Bok Building, Bok Bar, or the Edward W. Bok Technical High School), you might be living under a rock. It’s a reclaimed school that’s been converted into offices, vendors, artist studios, and, you guessed it…event spaces. Sus and Carlee had their wedding on the roof, with guests flowing between the outdoor terraces and Irwin’s Upstairs, a graffiti-chic restaurant.
My favorite part about working at Bok isn’t the view of the skyline, which is epic and never gets old. It’s actually being able to use the inside of the school as a portrait playground – dusty classrooms, crumbly walls, velvet curtains, and all the cool things you don’t see every day. Also, I’m not one to freak out over fashion, but Sus and Carlee are two stylish ladies. Scroll down to check out that custom green-blue suit and TWO stunning gowns.
With some unexpected rain popping up just before the original ceremony time, these brides ended up with one of my favorite wedding day twists: cocktail hour before the ceremony. I’ve seen this a handful of times and I always love it (if I was a guest, I’d love it, too, because SNACKS!). Guests had apps and drinks inside Irwin’s while waiting out the passing rain, and we ended up with a super beautiful nighttime ceremony.
I can’t say enough great things about this Bok building wedding, so I’m going to let the photos speak for themselves!
