Anthony Wayne House Wedding // Lauren & Andy
January 14, 2019 , Weddings
I really don’t know where to start when talking about Lauren and Andy. Their Anthony Wayne House wedding this past summer was one I had been looking forward to since the day I met them. I remember when we first chatted over coffee at La Colombe. We immediately hit it off and I felt so lucky that they chose me to photograph their day, which can be described as laid back backyard wedding meets Great Gatsby. They found me through their good friends, Lauren & Mike, whose wedding I photographed a year earlier (here’s their engagement session, because I am terrible about blogging and I never got around to sharing their wedding day – *face palm*). Fun fact: Mike officiated Lauren and Andy’s wedding!
Andy and Lauren are the sweetest, most down-to-earth people, and best of all, they’re just as obsessed with The Office as I am. They had a video team conducting “Office-style” interviews during their wedding reception, which is probably the best idea I’ve ever heard. After their wedding had passed and I’d finished their final gallery, I got my favorite gift to date: a Dundie award for “Best Wedding Photographer.”
Not only were they amazing clients who I truly connected with, they also allowed space for my aesthetic. Lauren and Andy completely trusted me to document their wedding in a way that was 100% mine, and in exchange I feel like I made some of my best work. In particular, I love the reception photos. A magical combination happened: the union of emotional speeches, vulnerable reactions, and good soft light from the clear-top tent. It doesn’t get any better in my book.
I can’t forget the wonderful vendors that kept this day casual, but super chic:
Venue: Anthony Wayne House
Lauren’s dress: Hayley Paige from Philly Bride
Rings: Bario Neal
Hair: Ariel Katrina
Makeup: Pure Elegance by Leigh Ann
Florist: The Rustic Bunch
