This week I had the chance to tour Philly’s brand new boutique hotel, the Lokal Hotel in Old City. My inner design junkie couldn’t stop ooh-ing at ahhh-ing at the midcentury touches and thoughtful details, like local coffee, tea, and spirits, and a well-stocked booklet of things to do in the city that don’t suck. The hotel has six suites, all with kitchenettes, sitting areas, washer/dryer combos, and gorgeous accents. Philadelphia’s been in desperate need of well-designed, well-lit places for couples to get ready on their wedding days, and I think Lokal will be a huge hit. Each of the three floors has a one bedroom and a two bedroom suite, so it could also be a great place to call base camp for wedding party & family members. Bonus: there’s a brand new salon downstairs, Barnet Fair Hair, and word on the street is that the hotel & salon will offer wedding packages in the future.
Here are some photos from my walkthrough of Lokal Hotel – check it out and contact them if you’re in need of a beautiful getting ready location right in the heart of Philadelphia!
