Oh boy. Writing about yourself is so awkward, am I right? Here’s a little bit about me.
As you might have guessed, I’m Brittney, a Philly-based photographer of weddings, couples in love & awesome people all around the world. I’ve been doing this since 2013, but it all really started long before that, with a box of old cameras and a lot of terrible photos of my friends and my feet. Typical. When I’m not taking photos or working in my studio, I’m probably cooking, rewatching The Office, or doing jigsaw puzzles with my boyfriend.
Traveling is my single favorite thing in the whole world. Second runner up: ice cream. Third: tattoos.
I am obsessed with monochrome. White, grey, and black are my favorite colors. My workspace? All-white. It’s becoming a problem. Lately I’ve miraculously been able to keep some plants alive, so there are a few pops of green, too, and I do have an ongoing love affair with pale pink (see photo on left).
I grew up in Los Angeles before moving to Philly in 2007. Before you ask, yes, I miss the weather, and no, I never learned to surf. I did run into a few celebrities across the years, but no one too crazy. Fun fact: Jeff Goldblum is super tall, and Peter Jackson is really nice.
Though I prefer not to choose sides in the debate of cats vs. dogs, I do have two wonderfully fluffy cats. However, that doesn’t stop me from going to dog parks (sans dog), and baby talking strangers’ pets. I realize this is mostly socially unacceptable, but I just can’t resist a cute doggo!
If you can’t tell from my career choice, I’m a bit of a romantic. I spend hours upon hours studying poetry, mostly modern and spoken word. My favorites are Anis Mojgani, Nayyirah Waheed, and W.S. Merwin.
If you can’t be silly, then what’s the point of anything?
This is my job, and it’s freaking awesome. I’m lucky enough to get to do what I love, because of people like you. Head over to the “Connect” section and let’s chat! I can’t wait to meet you.
